Great Falls Balloon Festival 2012

I had the opportunity to stop by the Great Falls Balloon Festival last Friday before work. 19 hot air balloons launched from Simard-Payne Memorial Park (a.k.a., Railroad Park) at 6am. I managed to get myself up and out of bed, just in time to get to the bridge between Lewiston and Auburn before the balloons launched. There were several hundred, if not thousand, people milling about among the bridge, Railroad Park, and a park on the Auburn side of the Androscoggin River. I have to say, the city looked beautiful at that time of day, with that many people enjoying a great event. It gives me hope for Lewiston-Auburn. Enjoy the pics.
